Social Networking Sites

In my social networks study I looked at Twitter, facebook, Instagram and Telegram. All these social networking sites have been known to be powerful tools that shape the society. Firstly, with Twitter things are a bit different compared to these other social networking sites. Those tweeting are called tweeps and what they tweet are tweets. Every tweep has a twitter handle. Tweeps follow each other and these constitute a group that follows one on twitter. The register in twitter most times involves words like Hush Tags. These Hashtags are used to refer to certain trending topics in the Twitter community. On the other hand, Facebook is different from twitter but shares too a few similarities. On facebook, those with FB accounts can send and accept each other friend requests. People can also follow each other by clicking the follow button. Hashtags are also applicable on facebook. However, there is no limitation as to the size of a post that one can post as is the case with twitter.

Instagram is also different in the sense that instagram focuses on photos. While in instagram audience like each others pics by double tapping on the photo, in Facebook, there are several ways in which one can react to pictures. Like twitter, Instagrams funs follow each and each have an instagram handle that starts with an ‘@’. Similarly, Hash tags in instagram refer to trending topics or ones that are yet to trend.

Finally, Telegram is another social networking site that works not only with your phone’s contact list but also has been tailored to enhance chatrooms of people with common interests. Telegram has powerful features such bots that can be used for Forex markets as well as other applications. Like facebook, Telegram provides for private group plaforms where membership is by access to a link and can be an interactive one or one that is regulated by admins. Like twitter, Telegram uses Telegram Handles with ‘@’ for individuals and groups. All these platforms need one to sign up for them in order to login and enjoy the applications therein.
